Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Head of Compliance Investigations will be responsible for overseeing, managing and conducting investigations into concerns or reports of violations of the B. Braun of America Code of Business Conduct, policies or procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The subject matter of investigations is broad as the position will be responsible for all issues and concerns reported to the Ethics & Compliance department, including through the Company’s confidential hotline.
The position will work both independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams including Legal, Human Resources, Quality, and Information Security, among others.
The person in this position will play an instrumental role in supporting the broader goals of the Company and the Ethics & Compliance program by promoting and reinforcing our Speak Up Culture, conducting root cause analysis, determining appropriate disciplinary and mitigation measures, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the overall effectiveness of compliance related controls, processes, and program activities.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
- Manage and oversee continuous improvements to the Company’s confidential hotline, incident management system, and investigation policies and procedures
- Review all incoming reports of incidents and potential violations to determine appropriate investigation assignment and response
- Ensure investigations are properly scoped and conducted in a manner that upholds our Company’s Speak Up Culture, Non-retaliation Policy, Culture and Values
- Lead, conduct and document complete and timely internal investigations falling under the responsibility of the Ethics & Compliance department
- Partner, liaise and support the completion of investigations by other departments including Human Resources, Quality, Health & Safety, Information Security, and Legal.
- Work directly with and supervise outside counsel or other service providers assisting in investigations
- Prepare timely, accurate and well-documented reports.
- Prepare and deliver written and oral summaries and presentations for senior management and Board members
- Analyze and track trends across investigations and employee reporting to measure and improve the company’s Speak up Culture and overall state of compliance.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
- Requires advanced knowledge of professional field and industry. Influences the development of and drives the application of principles, theories, concepts. Determines best course of action.
- Work under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training, and/or reviewing the work of peers.
- Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.
- Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree; JD preferred but not required
- Minimum 3, preferably 5+ years of investigation experience at a law firm, company, or government agency
- Strong training and experience with U.S. healthcare and medical device industry laws and regulations (e.g., AKS, FCA, PPSA, FCPA, FDCA, etc.)
- Proven experience developing and executing all phases of an investigation including collection, review and analysis of data, information and records; conducting interviews; documenting work completed; drafting findings and conclusions; accountability for successful completion.
- Ability to navigate matrix organization and complex compliance issues while exhibiting sound judgment and objectivity
- Superior personal integrity and ethics, including an exceptional sense of discretion and respect for confidentiality
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

$170,000 - $200,000
